Taggiasca Olive Tree

Taggiasca: From Liguria (Genoa) a very fruity variety prized throughout Italy for its exceptional flavor.

Plant Information:

  • 23-26% oil content

  • Self-fertile

  • Prefers half to full sun 

  • Fruit weight of 3 - 3.5 grams 

Taggiasca olive trees flower in May, ripen in the fall and are self-fertile. This means they do not need additional olive trees to produce olives, however yield will be larger with a pollinator.

Fruit production usually starts between 2-4 years. At maturity they can grow between 20-30 feet in height. The leaves are elliptic-lanceolate and medium size with a shiny dark green color on the upper side.
