Cayon Olive Tree

Cayon:  (France) The Cayon is a cultivar of olives grown primarily in the Var region of southern France. It is used primarily for the production of olive oil. The Cayon is highly valued for its role as a pollinator of other olive varieties.

Plant Information:

  • Fruit is black at full maturity

  • Oil described as fruity and balanced

  • Vulnerable to cold

  • Drought resistant

  • Sensitive to olive fruit flies

Cayon olive trees typically ripen early November with medium sized black fruit. The leaves are short and elliptical with medium width.

Used in the pollination of Bouteillan, Olivière, and Tanche just to name a few!
